The best laid plans sometimes don't work out--- it was our goal to hit two sites on the way up to Visalia today, but due to a later start then we wanted we only got to one.
Today we visited another
934-- Temporary Detention Camps for Japanese Americans-- Tulare Assembly Center (CHL #934).
It was here that Japanese Americans were forced to report until they could relocate them to permanent concentration camps.
We are nearly done with the temporary detention sites, but we haven't yet visited either of the camps at Manzanar or Tule Lake. I hope when we do Libi will have a better understanding of why we are visiting so many fairgrounds and racetracks.
